According to The Santa Clarita Valley Signal, Principal Bob Vincent of West Ranch High School seems to always be outside of his office rather than inside, but for good reason. “He’s very well-known on campus and he tries to get to know everyone — his students and his staff,” said Dody Garcia, West Ranch High’s athletic director.
Vincent has been as the principal since the school opened in 2004. He believes in forging strong relationships with his staff, his students, and their parents, and feels this can’t be done if he spends all day in his office.
“West Ranch has the highest test scores in the William S. Hart District and in northern Los Angeles County,” he said. “We’ve had the highest score every year since West Ranch High School opened.” Despite budget cuts and other challenges, Vincent expects to maintain the institute’s status as a premier high school.
“There are always challenges, but they have not affected West Ranch’s academic performance,” he said. “We’re not going to let the lack of money keep us from providing a world class education for our students.”
